Early life and background
Zinta`s  family lived in a very rural area in Shimala district of Himachal Pradesh. Her father Durgaannad Zinta,a Army officer by his profession, was unfortunately victim in a road accident and finally died. Though her mother, Nilprabha  was also involved in that accident she remained alive with a serious injury. She had to stay in bed for two years with a huge treatment. When her father went died, Zinta was still a child of 13 years.

Asin birth land was Cochin recently known as Kochi, Kerala .Her parents, Joseph Thottumkal conducted a number of businesses and Seline Thottumkal is a professional surgeon. According to a close source, Asin was called as Mary. But her father managed her name  as Asin having a meaning. Sharma said Ayodhaya, Uttar Pradesh as her birth place. Her father Ajay Kumar Sharma is an Indian Army and her mother Ashima Sharma is nothing but a housewife. It is very interesting that her father is natively a man of Uttar Pradesh where her mother came from Garhwali. But Sharma spent most of  her childhood in Bangalore.
